Introduce Oracle Database 11g operating mechanisms, architecture, and administrative routines, from installation to performing backup and optimization. Through accessible content, with examples using images, videos and exercises in the form of a scenario, the student will be able to understand the operation of the Oracle DBMS and the possible adverse situations of database administration in a company.

  • 1. Relational Entity Model and Database Design:

  • he objectives of this class are to understand the concept of DB and data modeling, to know the SQL language and how it is divided and to know the basic features of a DBMS.rn


  • 2. Oracle Database Key Concepts:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to present the basic architecture of Oracle database operations, features and processes and present the important characteristics of the position of database administrator.rn


  • 3. Basic Tasks in Oracle Database:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to describe the process of installing and settings of Oracle Database software, to know the tools for its administration and to know PL/SQL objects.rn


  • 4. Remote Access:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to explain the difference between local access and remote access to the database server; describe the process of configuring a client machine to remotely access the database server and run SQL commands watching the result.rn


  • 5. Oracle Instance Management:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to know the main configuration parameters of the Oracle instance, to know the process of initializing and closing instances and to manage instance memory automatically and manually.rn


  • 6. Management of Oracle Storage Structures:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to know the internal control files of the Oracle database; create, modify, and delete tablespaces; manage files and data from REDO and UNDO.rn


  • 7. User Administration and Security:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to learn how to manage users, user roles, and permissions to control access and manage database security.rn


  • 8. Concurrent Database Access:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to understand session and transaction concepts, transaction isolation levels, and Oracle database locking mechanism.rn


  • 9. Backup and Recovery Concepts:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to understand concepts of data backup and recovery, tools and configurations to increase the recoverability of the database.rn


  • 10. Data Backup, Restoring, and Exporting Data:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to learn how to perform and monitor backups and recoveries of the database.rn


  • 11. Maintenance and Performance Management

  • The objectives of this lesson are to learn how to analyze alerts, identify problems, and use advisors to improve database performance.rn


  • 12. Globalization Support:

  • The objectives of this lesson are to learn about Oracle DBMS resources that support globalization, that is, features that enable the exchange of database information in different parts of the world.rn
